Reported Attack Page!

I have certain blogs that I like to periodically check. One of them is The Inspired Bride, basically she sees things that would look cool translated into a wedding and she posts different "inspiration boards." They're pretty good and, for the most part, they're fun to look at. BUT WAIT! What did I find when I clicked on my bookmark?? This....

Ummm... they aren't dangerous! The Inspired Bride is PRETTY! Now, I'm just scared to click "ignore this message" because ummmm Google rules the world and they say no. haha I guess I'll have to figure out some other way to look at useless pictures of someone's party that wasn't a wedding, but could be a wedding. lol Yeah, I guess I can deal with not looking at it until they figure out what the problem is.

In other news, my toe hurts. I'm 99.99% positive that it's broken, but I'll skip posting the picture because as I said in my last post.. I like shoe/feet cutesy pictures (like the one below).. I don't like feet. I did send it to my parents and one lucky RN. (What up Jaclynnnn!!)

I'm trying to square away some meetings with catering place, flowers, bakeries, etc.... I don't want to have an overload of meetings, but since we're going to be in SC I think we should try to mark off at least a few things. Even if Mr. O skips the flower session or something along those lines, I think I'll survive.

Lastly, I got these wooden letters (M & K) recently. It was definitely in impulsive purchase, but now I have to decide where to use them. I'll leave you with some inspiration pictures. Holler!

Excuse me for not knowing where I got all of these pictures. If you Google, "wooden initials wedding" they'll come up in the images section. <3

Feet

Here's the thing, I love feet pictures. I don't necessarily like feet, but I LOVE a good shoes/feet pictures. For some reason they look so stinking cute to me! Sounds strange, but this is one picture that I'm insisting on having from the wedding. When it comes to why, I have no idea... except for the fact that I love them. I'm not sure if I must have cute shoes so that I can have the cute pictures or I must have the pictures so I need cute shoes. Chicken or the egg, ya know?

Enough of this confusing talk, I'll leave you with awesome pictures of FEET!

Next subject (mainly because I came across this while looking for awesome feet pictures): What if I begged & pleaded for Mr. O to wear these so that I could wear heels? How awkward.

They're shoe lifts. hahaha... That way, I wouldn't tower over him at the wedding if I wore heels! I would feel so strange knowing that he's actually inches taller the day that we get married than in real life. WEIRD! I'll stick with flats (amazing ones, duh) for the ceremony and pretty, amazing heels for the reception. Whoop!

Wedding Planning.... or lack there of.

Hi there! It's been a while, huh? So I left off before NYC. I can't even begin to recap that trip because it was a whirlwind of awesome-ness. I'm still exhausted.

As for wedding planning? It's been put on hold for the most part. I have been talking to my stationary designer (I got her first drafts today)!! We are working in the right direction to having something perfect. Yay!!

My new camera has been treating me very nicely... even though I still don't really know how to use it. I'm learning. I think that the girls and I might take some pictures this weekend.

My main focus has been getting my Etsy Shop, Amethyst Layne, off of the ground. That means making lots of flowers and doing some serious research on marketing and advertising Etsy style... there's a lot more to it than it looks!! The name came from my birthstone & my middle name. So far, so good.... I'll keep you posted. :)

Busy, busy, busy

This week has be exceptional busy... I think that applies to both mentally and physically "busy." I've been thinking about a lot, doing a lot, and definitely looking forward to my NYC trip this weekend.

Lets talk about what's been going on with me. Well, a job that I thought was out of reach (because the position was filled) has resurfaced and I'm hoping that it will work out in my favor this time around. That would be fantastic! I'm being patient and I know what it was like the last time around. I have high expectations, but am being realistic.

I've also started some serious basketball-ness. Yes, we've been practicing for a few weeks now but there's just a sudden sense of "okay, this is our team and we're gonna win games." The girls (all 5 of them.. I mean, umm, yeah.. only 5) are focused, working hard, and definitely ready to play some games. Whoop!

I've been talking to invitation designers, caterers, vacation spots, and florists... the list continues. I've made 3 appointments to try on dresses. I actually made the appoints last week, but for some reason I feel like I just did it. That's scheduled for the beginning of April because my parents will be in town. I'm planning a dress trip #2 to make the final decision with the seester!!

Maddie playing with my camera as I contemplate, "Is this big enough or is that gonna work??"
Like the craft stuff that's surrounding me??

Also, the camera that I wanted for my birthday? Well, yeah, I bought it. hehe Now, I'm just learning how to use it. Reading a lot of tips online and talking to my photographer friends.

I love this picture. I think it's because once I master this type of picture, it'll be my fave.

I'm getting all of the "small" things for the wedding done right away. Little signs that I want to make, but I know if I wait until the last minute that they'll get over taken by more important tasks. For example, I want to make the sign below mostly for the picture. haha -- See, it's not necessary, but I think the picture is adorable.

Forgive me for not knowing where I got this picture. I blame it on the 2081 blogs I read daily.

Back to work! Next up: NYC update!

A Horse of a Different Color

When I started thinking "wedding," which seems to consume a lot of my thoughts these days, I pretty much knew what colors I wanted to have. I'm sure it all transpired as I watched Wedding Sundays on the WE Network or a random episode of Four Weddings on TLC, but either way it happened. I stuck with the simple colors that you would find in the crayon box, but now... a few months and 10,000 blogs later... I'm starting to jump on the color snob train.

I'll explain right after I belt out some "Forever and Ever" - Randy Travis (songs are forever distracting me). I digress.

So I read all of these blogs and see all of these color palates. When I look at them I think, "Cool. Pink, Orange, and Green." Then, I read and it says their colors are, "Honeysuckle, Coral Rose, and Peapod." Doesn't that just sound so much cooler?! I, in the beginning, was thinking that they really knew what they were talking about and they were just oh so sophisticated. Then I realized that they just refer to Pantone.

Apparently, people eat, sleep, and breathe Pantone colors. For example, I've seen at least 100 times that "Honeysuckle" has been released as the color of 2011. Yes... THE color. Do you know how many brides are going to have a Honeysuckle (aka Hot Pink) wedding this year?! I'll tell you... a lot.

You might not think this is so bad. So what? They have a color of the year. Wait... just wait! Read WHY.

"While the 2010 color of the year, PANTONE 15-5519 Turquoise, served as an escape for many, Honeysuckle emboldens us to face everyday troubles with verve and vigor. A dynamic reddish pink, Honeysuckle is encouraging and uplifting. It elevates our psyche beyond escape, instilling the confidence, courage and spirit to meet the exhaustive challenges that have become part of everyday life."

Yeah, that's right... because it's encouraging and uplifting. WHAT?!

Anways, I'm starting to catch on. I've changed my colors... they used to be dark purple, limey green, and champange. I got a little color snobbish w/ champagne, but I just genuinely didn't want to say "tan," because tan isn't the color I wanted. My new colors are Phlox, Limolious, and I'll stick with Champagne but I do kinda prefer Crystallized Ginger. lol... Who am I right now?!

** "Limolicious" looks a little too olive-y for me, but it's the closest thing I could find without searching through Valspar forever. You get the point.

** I'm also not going to say "phlox, crystallized ginger, or limolicious" ever... unless I'm joking. This was more satire than it was anything. What can I say?! I'm a jokester.
